Terms of use
Terms of use.
Last updated: August 2026
1. Purpose
This English version is provided for convenience only. The French version of these Terms is the legally binding one. In the event of any discrepancy or conflict between the two versions, the French version prevails.
These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern the use of the Stelliverse application (the “Application”) and of the stelliverse.fr website (the “Site”), published by Drrakendu78 (the “Publisher”). By installing, accessing or using the Application or the Site, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted these Terms without reservation. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Overview of the service
Stelliverse is a free and unofficial French (and English) translation tool for the video game Star Citizen. The Application notably makes it possible to:
- install and update translations in the game’s local files;
- provide an in-game overlay and in-game tools;
- optionally back up your configurations to the cloud;
- post group listings, create corporation spaces and set up lobbies between corporations;
- share, between pilots who have added each other as friends, where they are within the game.
Stelliverse is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with Cloud Imperium Games (CIG) or Roberts Space Industries (RSI). “Star Citizen”, “Roberts Space Industries” and the related trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Transparency: AI-assisted development. Stelliverse is developed with the help of an artificial intelligence (Claude, by Anthropic). I am not a professional developer: the AI helps me write, fix and improve the application quickly. That is what makes frequent updates possible. I fully stand by this and would rather say it plainly than let anyone believe otherwise.
3. Access, account and free use
The Application is provided free of charge and can be used without an account: translation, overlay, local tools and the flight log work straight away.
Creating an account, exclusively through Discord, is optional but recommended: it unlocks the cloud and community features — cloud backup, shared hangar, group listings, corporation spaces, inter-corporation lobbies and in-game location sharing between friends. You are responsible for:
- the accuracy of the information you provide;
- the confidentiality of your login credentials;
- any activity carried out from your account.
The username you provide is linked to your account and is used in particular to identify you and to display your profile within the Application. The processing of your data is detailed in our privacy policy.
4. Rules of use
By using the service, you agree not to:
- use the Application for illegal, fraudulent or malicious purposes;
- harass, threaten or harm other users or the community;
- attempt to disrupt, circumvent, hack or misuse the service, its servers or its security mechanisms;
- distribute a modified, tampered-with or malicious version of the Application;
- impersonate a third party, or create accounts in order to evade a sanction;
- post, in the shared spaces (group listings, corporation spaces, inter-corporation lobbies), any content that is unlawful, hateful, abusive, discriminatory or pornographic, that constitutes harassment, or that infringes the rights of a third party;
- post personal data about other people there without their consent.
You alone remain responsible for the content you publish in the shared spaces. That content is public towards the other users concerned and may be subject to moderation (see article 5).
Your use of the Application must also comply with the terms of use of Star Citizen / Cloud Imperium Games. You alone are responsible for ensuring that your use complies with the requirements of the game’s publisher.
Voice commands. The user deliberately enables the voice command feature (System → Voice commands page, disabled by default) and remains responsible for informing the people present in their surroundings when the microphone is active. Voice processing is entirely local (see the Privacy Policy).
5. Moderation and sanctions
Content published in the shared spaces is moderated after publication by the Stelliverse team. In the event of a breach of these Terms, the following measures may be taken, depending on the seriousness and the repetition of the facts:
- Content removal: the content is moved to the trash and remains restorable for 30 days;
- Warning: notification of the reason, with no restriction of access;
- Temporary suspension: restricted access to the community spaces for a set period;
- Permanent suspension: access to the community spaces withdrawn on a lasting basis;
- Account deletion, together with the associated data.
These measures only ever affect the community spaces — group listings, corporation spaces and inter-corporation lobbies. The Application itself remains usable in every case: its local features (translation, overlay, tools, flight log) require no account and cannot be blocked. There is no ban from the Application.
Human decisions. An automated system may flag content for review, but no sanction is ever applied automatically: every decision is made by a member of the moderation team. You are notified by Discord private message of the reason and, where applicable, the duration.
Right to challenge. You may challenge any moderation decision by writing to us on the Stelliverse Discord. A sanction can be lifted if the challenge is justified. The data related to moderation and its retention periods are set out in the privacy policy.
A user may also be banned from the community Discord server, which follows its own moderation rules. As the service is free, no sanction gives rise to any compensation or refund. Stelliverse does not collect any hardware identifier (HWID): measures apply solely to the account.
6. Intellectual property
The source code of the Application is publicly available on GitLab, under the PolyForm Strict License 1.0.0 — a source-available license that allows viewing and auditing the code, but forbids redistribution, forks, derivative works and any commercial use. The translations are the result of community work. The game’s content, as well as “Star Citizen” and “Roberts Space Industries”, remain the property of Cloud Imperium Games. You agree not to claim as your own, nor to resell, the work made available by Stelliverse.
7. Personal data
The processing of your personal data (Discord ID, username, avatar) is described in our privacy policy, which complies with the GDPR. No email address and no hardware identifier (HWID) are collected. You can delete your account and all of your data at any time, directly from the Application.
8. Warranty and liability
The Application is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. As the Application modifies the game’s local files, you use it at your own risk. To the extent permitted by law, the Publisher may not be held liable for:
- any damage, data loss or malfunction of the game or of your system;
- any consequence for your Star Citizen account (including a possible sanction from Cloud Imperium Games);
- any unavailability, interruption or loss of your cloud backups.
9. Importing your RSI hangar
The hangar import feature accesses your own Roberts Space Industries account data, and only at your explicit request: you log in personally on the RSI website, and Stelliverse never receives your password.
You acknowledge that you alone are responsible for:
- your Roberts Space Industries account and the confidentiality of your credentials;
- complying with the Cloud Imperium Games / Roberts Space Industries terms of use regarding access to your account.
Stelliverse only extracts the list of your ships, for the sole purpose of displaying and managing your hangar within the application. The Publisher may not be held liable for any restriction of your RSI account resulting from the use of this feature.
10. Availability and changes to the service
The service is provided within the limits of the Publisher’s means. The Publisher may change it, suspend it or discontinue it at any time and without notice, in particular for technical, maintenance or security reasons.
11. Changes to these Terms
The Publisher may amend these Terms at any time. The applicable version is the one published online at the time of your use. By continuing to use the service after a change, you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection afforded by the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings before the courts of that country. Otherwise, the French courts shall have jurisdiction. An amicable resolution will always be sought first.
